He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Spurgin and Eva Spurgin (Cassada); his wife Myrna Spurgin (Culley); his daughter Shawn Spurgin; and his siblings, Robert Spurgin and Emily Zschau.
He is survived by: his son Timothy Spurgin (Gretchen Revie); his grandchildren, Stephen Foster and Genevieve Foster; his sister Susan Reynolds; and also, Charley and Kim Foster.
