He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Shanks and Jodi Mae Shanks (Vincent); and his siblings, Brenda Faye Shanks and Delfred Shanks. He is survived by: his wife Ava Shanks (Wolfe); his children, Susan Orndorff (Scott) and Jason Shanks (Heather); his brother Darrell Shanks (Sandra); and his grandchildren, Amber Smith (Wayne), Elizabeth Ann Turner (Casey), Lindsay Cooper, Morgan Shanks, Kendall Shanks and Kira Sue Shanks.
