He was predeceased by: his parents, Georgetta Ricketts and Appel; and his grandson Kamren Smithhart. He is survived by: his stepfather Morris Ricketts; his wife Terri Miller Smithhart (Wilhelm); his children, Scott Smithhart (Megan) of Linton, IN, Eric Smithhart (Jessica) of Chandler, IN and Magan Smithhart of Newburgh, IN; his stepchildren, Adam Hagedorn of Ferdinand, IN and Andrea Wilhelm of Evansville; and his aunts and uncles, Kathy Mettle, Susie Clark, George "Buddy" Appel and Bobby Mettle. He is also survived by seven grandsons; two granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel (626 N First Ave, Evansville, IN 47710). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
