He was predeceased by: his parents, Rollie Shelton and Etta Jane (Lewis); his siblings, Dan Shelton, Ray Shelton, Bennie Shelton and Marie Byerly; his son Paul Shelton; and his grandchildren, Misty Fitzgerald, Matthew Stewart and Hadleigh Shelton.
He is survived by: his wife Violet Shelton (Smith); his children, Rose Goldman (Wayman), Tim Shelton, Lora Reynolds, Darren Shelton (Leigh), Geneva Leonard (Nick) and Pamela Pancake (Frank); and his siblings, Delmar Shelton (Carol), Dale Shelton (Pat) and Delphi Elswick. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
