Newkirk of Lubbock, Texas; and his siblings, Russell Newkirk of English, Paul Newkirk of Indianapolis, Ralph Newkirk of Taswell, Indiana, Grace Newkirk Kohler of Owensville, Martha King of English and Nancy May of Indianapolis, Indiana. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
