He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert R. Mountcastle and Lucille E. Mountcastle (Wilson); his wife Carolyn Mountcastle (McPhearson); and his siblings, Bobby Mountcastle, Bennie Mountcastle and Brenda Harris.
He is survived by: his children, Lori Nutt (David) of Elwood and Robert G. Mountcastle (Bruce Richardson) of Elwood; his siblings, Carolyn Ehman of Elwood, Ruth Clingerman of Huntington and Ronald Mountcastle (Dot) of Mitchell; his grandsons, Larry Nutt (Gretchen) of Richmond, VA and Jacob Nutt (Halie Jackson) of New Palestine; his great grandchild Esther Syverud-Nutt; and his sister-in-law Alice Mountcastle of Elwood.
