He was predeceased by: his parents, Basil Hanshew and Bernice Hanshew (Winton); his son Christopher Kuhn; and his siblings, Sue Vautaw, Sandra Nickum and Jack Hanshew.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Hanshew (Kuhn); his children, Heather Mix (Phillip), Rick Hanshew (Shanda) and Vicki Hanshew; and his brothers, Joe Hanshew and Jeff Hanshew. He is also survived by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
