He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy K. Blackford, and Eva Blackford, Sr. (Anderson); and his siblings, Norma Graham, Lela Taylor, Freda Georgel, Roy Blackford, Jr., Edward Blackford, Theodore Blackford, Billy Joe Blackford, James Blackford, Donald Blackford and George Blackford.
He is survived by: his wife Dianne Blackford of Elwood; his children, Michael E. Blackford Jr. of Kokomo, Linda Ballew (Terry) of Texas, Jacobia Bleeke (Rich) of Elwood and Benjamin Blackford (Amanda) of Elwood; his sister Dianne Homler (Max) of Anderson; and his cousin Dwight Gardener (Linda) of Oklahoma. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Salute to Fallen organization through the funeral home.
