He was predeceased by: his parents, Burnice Hughes and Mary Ellen Hughes (Hueston); his siblings, James Hughes, Larry Hughes (Ellarie), Merrill Hughes and Janet Stage (Ed); and his sister-in-law Jackie Hughes.
He is survived by: his daughters, Toni Graff (Ruben) of Indianapolis and Jill Stone of Westfield; his brothers, William "Bill" Hughes (Peggy) of Elwood, Dennis Hughes of Elwood, Alan Hughes (Anita) of Canton, GA and Roger Hughes (Rita) of Warsaw; his grandchildren, Sam Graff (Michelle), Harrison Graff, Ethan Graff, Marian Graff, Adam Hoover, Austin Hoover (Morgan) and Brent Stone; his great grandchildren, Franklin and Hazel Graff; and his sister-in-law Diana Hughes of Florida.
