He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon S. Wirtzfeld and JoAnne E. Wirtzfeld (Eisenman); and his brother Thomas Wirtzfeld. He is survived by: his wife Janet L. Black of Elwood; his children, Haylei Bargholz (Jeremy) of Florida, Wyatt Wirtzfeld of Florida, Lexi Wirtzfeld (Kate Zornes) of Elwood, Anthony Schuler of Florida, Jonathan Schuler (Kim) of Alabama, Joshua Schuler of Florida and Rebecca Schuler (Trevor Ebersole) of California; his siblings, Lynda Wirtzfeld of Idaho, David Wirtzfeld of Alabama and Jeffrey Wirtzfeld; his grandchildren, Makenna Cole, Ryleigh Bargholz, Kenzie Schuler and Amelia Rose Schuler; and his nephew Thomas Wirtzfeld.
He married Janet L. Black on May 10, 2020 during the Covid pandemic, and they shared several loving years together.
