He was predeceased by: his parents, John Earl and Myrtle Goldie Garman (Martin); his wife Emogene R. Marvel; and his siblings, George Garman, Jack Garman, Dave Garman and Kate Thalheimer (Garman).
He is survived by: his children, Kay King (David) of Elkhart, IN and Timothy Garman (Dawn) of Cassopolis, MI; his grandchildren, Kristi Ickes (Chris) of Nappanee, IN, Kimberly Griffith (Brett) of Holiday, FL and Benjamin Garman (Dakota); and his great grandchildren, Nicholas Griffith, Alex Griffith, Kaylyn King, Riley King, Henry Garman and Cora Garman.
