He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Emerson Smith and Laura Alberta Hall; his former wife Jerrylynn Ethel Proctor Smith; and his siblings, Howard Earl Smith, Hubert Smith, Frieda Marie Swygman and Helen Dell Hicks Brittain.
He is survived by: his wife Lynn; his daughters, Jaleen Ford (Kegan) of Casa Grande and Lisa Ann Smith of Jacksonville, Florida; his grandchildren, Amanda Kail (Ramsey), Andrew Smith (Cheryl), Brittany Smith (Brett Boyer), Becca Wheeler, Samantha Klink, Alfred "Jake" Klink IV, Adam Wheeler and Zayden Ford; and his great grandchildren, Cody Wright, Caleb Smith, Declan Kail, Peytlin Meyer and Penelope "Poppy" Kail. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
