He was predeceased by: his wife Linda Messimore; his parents, Leon Penney Sr. and Reatha Daning; and his brothers, Scott and Don.
He is survived by: his son Scott Penney; and his siblings, Tony, Danny, Bob, Sharon Smith, Shirley Whittmaker and Susan Burns. He is also survived by four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter.
