He was predeceased by: his father George; his wife Debra; and his siblings, Billy Whitis, Marvin Whitis, Bobby Whitis, Kenney Whitis, Edward Whitis, Paul Whitis, Lewey Whitis, Ronnie Whitis, Harold Whitis and Euna "Sis" Jackson.
He is survived by: his children, Jenny Mings, Connie Wilson (Jeff), Jeff Whitis (Kelly) and Daniel Whitis; his grandchildren, Bethanne, Bryan, Samantha, Tyler, Bryce, Kia, Skylar, Daniel, Jace and Brianna; his great grandchildren, Ethan, Iris, Skyla, Skylyn and Lydia; and his siblings, Clarence Whitis, Larry Whitis (Connie), Gene Whitis (Sherry), Dewey Whitis and Edith George.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the IU Health Simon Cancer Center, or Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana.
