He was predeceased by: his parents, Carroll Willard and Esther Ruth Burt (Vannatter); and his brother Richard W. Burt (Sue). He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Joan Burt; his daughters, Julia Parker (Lance), Jennifer Newman (Peter) and Jayne Merryman; his grandchildren, Matthew Newman (Mair Wallis, MD), Denver, Kassandra Leingang (Karl), Bothell, Michael Newman, Monroe, Bradley Newman, Marysville, Merryman and Carmel; his great grandchildren, Kale and Kadence Leingang; and his siblings, Don Burt (Janice) and Margy Rogers.
John fought an amazing and courageous battle with COVID-19 and subsequent heart and kidney failure at St. Vincent's Hospital, in Indianapolis.
