He was predeceased by: his parents, Hartsell Porter and Myrtle Maxine Everett Yagle; his son Samuel Porter; his grandson Dakota Bruns; and his sister Jane Elliott.
He is survived by: his wife Elouise "Elly" Porter; his children, Thomas Porter of Loogootte, IN, Jennifer Fredrick (Bob) of Lafayette, IN and Patricia Springfield (John) of Odon, IN.; his grandchildren, Aubree Porter, Kaelley Bruce, Logan Fredrick (Erin), Dillon Fredrick (Whitney), Laken Fredrick, Dalton Bruns, Alicia Bruns and Alvia Bruns; his great grandchildren, Kaspen Fredrick, Jett Fredrick, Parklyn Fredrick, Ian Bruce and Ember Bruce; and his niece Dee Brown.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel (118 Washington St, Bicknell, IN 47512). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Riley Children's Hospital or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
