With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Leon Wayne Shelton of Eckerty, Indiana, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Leon left this world on March 9, 2025 at the age of 70, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Essie C. Shelton and Cutshall; his wife Diane Shelton; his sister Gail Magby; and his grandson Rilan Barnes.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lisa Shelton of Taswell and Melissa Barnes (Ben) of Chesterland, Ohio; his close friend Janet Thompson of Marengo, Indiana; his grandchildren, Sadie Summers (Sweetheart), Elyssa Summers (Peanut), Shayla Summers (Tater) and Adelyn Barnes (Funny Face); and his adoptive sons, Chris Barnes, Davin Corbett and Mitch Polen. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, March 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Fairview General Baptist Church (5560 W Patoka School Rd, Taswell, IN 47116). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
