He was predeceased by: his parents, Hazel Smoot and Furniss; his wife Janet Smoot; and his siblings, Bill Smoot (Delorise), Gene Smoot (Rosemary), Roll Smoot (Mildred), Bob Smoot (Dorothy), Bernice Sipe (Jim), Marcella Robbins (Ora), Maxine Mills (Harold), Betty Carmichael (Kenny), Annabee McIntire (Bill) and Sara Richards-Limbert (Bob).
He is survived by: his children, Bobbie Boyle (Jack Whited) and Terry Smoot (Cindy); his granddaughter Brandy Sorrell (Bret Kelso); and his stepgrandchildren, Kendra Vance, Kaylee Scott, Ryan George and Jon George.
