He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Bales and Peggy Bales (McKillip); and his brother Phillip Bales. He is survived by: his son Jonathon Bales; his stepchildren, Derek Mitchell and Leah Mitchell; his brother Tony Bales; and his sister-in-law Diana Bales. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
