He was predeceased by: his son David James Christal; and his brothers, Lydon Christal, Ray Eugene "Gene" Christal and Ernie Christal. He is survived by: his wife Peggy S. Redden; his children, Jami Staab (Phil), Richard "Rick" Christal (Janie), Steven Christal (Donna) and Mark Christal (Amy); and his grandson Matthew. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
