He was predeceased by: his mother Emily "Meli" Ortega; his grandparents, Rufino, Emilia Ortega, Blas and Matiana Ortega; and his mother-in-law Ofelia G. Cantu.
He is survived by: his wife Olga Papp (Cantu); his close friends, Barron, Jamie, Juan and Sam; his daughter Christina Phillips (Dave); his father Oliver R. Ortega; his godparents, Eliseo "Vitamins" and Consuelo "Connie" Castaneda; and his siblings, Ronald Ortega (Annette), Rudolph Ortega (Kathy), Annette Ortega and Annjanette Ortega (Suzanne). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
