It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Della Chiesa of East Chicago, Indiana, who passed away on January 6, 2021, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Patrick Della Chiesa. She is survived by: her son James Della Chiesa (Jim); her grandchildren, David and Andrea; her daughter-in-law Mary Della Chiesa (Mueller); and her grandchildren, Nonna and Andi.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions for limited attendance, private funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Maria Goretti Community Outreach, 500 Northgate Drive Dyer, IN 46311.

I enjoyed spending time with Mary while working in the Recreation Dept. at Hartsfield. Mary also touched the lives of the rest of my family. She will be missed by all of us. Karen Gricus”

“Please accept our sincere sympathies for Mary. I met her a few years ago and we connected over Italian cooking immediately! She had me over for private lesson on how to make her pesto and I left with the most delicious pesto ever! I've made it ever since and think of her every time. Next she planned to teach me her Chicken Vesuvio - but Covid hit. I just loved her personality, her way or no way, with the biggest, kindness, loving heart! I will always remember her fondly.
