He was predeceased by: his brother Fernando Zavala; and his father Jose G. Zavala. He is survived by: his wife Rosalba Zavala; his daughters, Alejandrina Zavala and Alondra Zavala; his mother Maria Guadalupe Rico; and his siblings, Francisco Cerpa, Manuel Zavala, Javier Zavala, Jesus Zavala, Arturo Zavala, Gustavo Zavala and Alejandrina Zavala. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
