She was predeceased by: her father Arnold Puentes. She is survived by: her mother Teresa Sanchez (Puentes); her husband Etelberto Castillo; her children, Victoria Poe (Puentes), Roberto Castillo and Nocholas Castillo; her grandchildren, Dameron, Elliot, Claire and Veronica; and her sisters, Patricia, Martha and Theresa. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Fife Funeral Home (4201 Indianapolis Blvd, East Chicago, IN 46312). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
