She was predeceased by: her husband David Mendez; her parents, Luis DeJesus and Maria DeJesus; and her brother Luis DeJesus, Jr.. She is survived by: her siblings, Analydia Sanchez (Radames), Betty Arroyo (Juan), Pedro DeJesus (Star), Lucy Sanchez (Hilario) and Marlin DeJesus; her children, Wanda Rodriguez (Julio), Yolanda Howard (Bernard) and Pedro Echevarria (Gracie); her grandchildren, Joel Rodriguez, Julio Rodriguez (Priscilla), Jennifer Howard, Mariah Echevarria and Michael Howard; and her great grandchildren, Madison Howard, Julia Rodriguez and Parker Howard. She is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Fife Funeral Home (4201 Indianapolis Blvd, East Chicago, IN 46312).
