He was predeceased by: his child Isabela Zavala. He is survived by: his wife Susana Escobedo Juarez; and his children, Jose Antonio Zavala (Silvia Medina), Rosario Zavala, Rosa Maria Zavala Barragan (Javier Barragan), Fernando Zavala (Rosalinda Quillares), Marina Zavala and Maria Isabel Zavala (Juan Manuel Cintora). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters in Mexico; numerous nieces and nephews.
