He was predeceased by: his parents, Julia Tribble and George Shumylo; and his sister JoAnn Phipps. He is survived by: his wife Melissa Shumylo; his sons, Jason Shumylo (Rosa) and Brian Shumylo (Stephanie); and his siblings, Robert Tribble (Denise) and Nancee Kimberly (Skip). He is also survived by eight grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the National Arbor Day Foundation or the American Heart Association.
