It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Francis Degnan Jr. of Dyer, Indiana, who passed away on March 18, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his former wife Robin Degnan; his parents, John Sr. Degnan and Bev Degnan; his brother Tim Degnan; and his sister-in-law Chrissy Degnan.

He is survived by: his wife Michelle Layman; his children, Jack Degnan III (Courtney), Matt Degnan and Becky Lidster (Dave); his stepson Nathan Layman (Morgan Adelman); his grandchildren, Sloan and JD Degnan; his brother Mark Degnan (Marie); and his sister-in-law Mimi Dzyacky. He is also survived by His many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Fagen Miller Funeral Homes - St. John (8580 Wicker Ave, St John, IN 46373). A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 26th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Joseph Church (440 Joliet St, Dyer, IN 46311). A burial will be held on Wednesday, March 26th 2025 at the St John St Joseph Cemetery (1547 167th St, Hammond, IN 46320).
