He was predeceased by: his wife Gertrude A. Vroom; and his brothers, William Vroom and Wayne Vroom. He is survived by: his children, Donald Vroom (Wendy) and Patricia Gagliardi (Louis); his grandchildren, Donald Beau, Brady, Myles, Maisy Vroom, Michael, David, Matthew and Andrew Gagliardi; and his sister Joyce Nymeyer (late Elliott).

Memorial contributions may be given to Illiana Christian High School.
