He was predeceased by: his parents, Viola Rogers Townsend and Frank Townsend Sr.; his wife Modine; his son Clay Jr.; his granddaughter Venisha Latrice; and his siblings, Irene, Bertha Mae, Mablene, Willie Joe, Joe Robert, Ira, Willie Bob and Rev. George Burkey.
He is survived by: his children, Billy Wayne, Orville Lee (Vanessa), Jimmy, Ricky (Deloris), Elaine (Kendrick), Yvonne (David) and Rachelle (John); his sisters, Dollie and Lucille; and his nephew Bobby Johnson. He is also survived by 5 sisters-in-laws, 3 brothers-in-laws, 15 grandchildren; 25-great-grandchildrens; 12 great-great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
