He was predeceased by: his parents, William Swan and Marion Swan; and his uncle Ed Swan. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Betsy" Swan; his children, Nicholas Swan (Samantha Gerich) and Anna Swan; and his sisters, Janice Nichols (Jim) and Nancy Vassar (late Tom). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ed's name to Hospice of the Calumet Area.
