He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Spender and Carolyn Spender. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Spender; his children, Michael Spender (Nicole), Melissa Marx (Karl) and Marc Spender (Lauren); his grandchildren, Stella, Camreigh, Anna, Klara and Dean; and his siblings, Larry Spender (Sandi) and Linda Tessarolo (Jerry).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Don may be given to the Illiana Cadet Council, 30728 S. Cottage Grove Ave., Beecher, IL 60401.
