It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cheryl (Duncanson) L. Photenhauer of Dyer, Indiana, born in Hammond, Indiana, who passed away on June 30, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Leo Duncanson; her husband John "Jack" Photenhauer; her stepmother Ruth Duncanson; her mother Lelah Sonaty; her stepfather Warren Sonaty Sr.; and her brothers, Warren Duncanson, Patrick Shinkle and Fred Shinkle.
She is survived by: her children, Troy Butler (Kim) of Rensselaer, IN, Erik Photenhauer (Holly) of Los Angeles, CA, Kayle Gatz (Chuck) of Dyer, IN and Kelly Butler of Dyer, IN; her grandchildren, Ryan Butler (Hannah), Levi Photenhauer, Zoe, Sasha, Roxy Photenhauer and Payton Lewis (Shayne); her great grandchildren, Nia and Jack Butler; her siblings, Patricia Sonaty, Sandi Witcher (Jerry), Wayne Duncanson (Jane), Warren Sonaty Jr. (Sue) and Tony Sonaty (Debbie); her daughter-in-law Kim Fishback (Robb); and her sister-in-law Marguerite Peterson. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
