He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Thiel and Myrtle Thiel; and his son-in-law Dave Leon. He is survived by: his wife Pamela; his children, Denise Walstra (Peter), Ronda Leon, Sandra Noe (Ted) and Joseph Thiel (Jackie); his grandsons, T. J. Noe (Amanda), Nicholas Leon and Joey Thiel; his great grandchildren, Adriana and Aria Noe; his sisters-in-law, Cynthia Smith, Anita Smith, April Smith and Christine Smith; his niece Shelly Smith; and his brothers, Robert Thiel (Mary), Jim Thiel (Marilyn), Pete Thiel (Rayette), Pat Thiel (Kathy) and Thomas Thiel (Roberta). He is also survived by nieces, nephews dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Charlie Thiel's name.
