He was predeceased by: his parents, Amos Gerig and Viola Gerig (Graber); his siblings, Victor Gerig and Elizabeth Miller; and his brother-in-law Victor Wagler.
He is survived by: his wife Rosa Gerig (Miller); his children, Joseph J. Gerig (Lucinda Kay), Mary May Graber (John Jay) and DiAnn Kay Schmucker (Orvie M.); his grandchildren, Jayden Lamar (Melinda Rose), Makenna Danae, Kaylee Rae, Kevin Lamar, Darrin Devon and Kristin Kay; his siblings, Paul (Marie), Jonas (Darla), Alvie (Carolyn), Edwin (Ruth), Martha (Enos), Margaret (Mervin), Marie (Victor), Anna Mae and Eileen (Andy); and his brother-in-law David Miller.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the Joseph & Lucinda Gerig's Residence (5932 Bruick Rd, New Haven, IN 46774).
