He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey P. Clarkson and Elma E. Clarkson (Gasper); his wife Carol Ruth Ann Shelley; and his siblings, Harvey O. Clarkson, Alma Luella Matlock, Eunice Ann Stenger and Thelma Turner.
He is survived by: his children, Chuck Clarkson (Jo Ellen) of Charlotte, Kenny Clarkson (Andrea) of Fortville, Debbie Harmon (Bob) of Columbus and Angie Clarkson of Dupont; his sister Judith Bledsoe (Wayne) of Shelbyville; and his grandchildren, Jacob Clarkson (Clarissa) of Arcadia, Emily Clarkson of Greenwood, Taylor Clarkson (Morgan) of Indianapolis, Lyndley Clarkson of Cleveland, Nicholas Clarkson (Sarah) of Fortville, Matthew Harmon (Rachel) of Urbandale, Iowa, Lucas Harmon (Caroline) of Lafayette, Shelley Harmon of Lafayette, Nick Clarkson of Sarasota, Lexey Clarkson of Charlotte, Kelly Clarkson of Dupont, Indiana, Ian Clarkson (Bobbie Jo) of Dupont, Indiana and Olivia Clarkson of Dupont, Indiana. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in honor of Mr. Clarkson through the funeral home to the Dupont Volunteer Fire Department.
