He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Franks and Dorothy Buchanan Franks; his sisters, Patricia Gilles (James), Jane Jackson (Michael) and Margo Stille (Earl "Bud"); his brothers-in-law, Phil Elliott, James Elliott and Bill Hance; his grandchildren, Maria, Courtney and Thomas; and his great grandchild Tracey Allen Franks.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia L. Elliott "Jenny" Franks of Dupont, Indiana; his sons, Todd Michael Franks of Louisville and Troy Lee Franks (Chelsey) of Fallon, Nevada; his daughter-in-law Anita Franks of Indianapolis, Indiana; his grandchildren, Tristan, Trace, Sydney, Colton and Caidey; and his siblings-in-law, Marlene Durbin (John) of Seattle, Ray Keith Elliott (Sharon) of Dupont, Indiana, Marilyn Hance of Madison, Karen Elliott of Dallas Texas and Mary "Pee Wee" Elliott of Madison, Indiana. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
