He was predeceased by: his parents, Morton Schlegel and Lucile Schlegel (Benefiel); and his siblings, Chester Schlegel, Donald Schlegel, Charles Schlegel, Henry Lee Schlegel, Margaret Johnson, Mary Spade, Ruth Oliver, Janice Schlegel and Frances Williams West.
He is survived by: his son Jerry Schlegel; his siblings, John Schlegel, Daniel Schlegel, Lois Pardue, Wilma Causey and Anna Mae Strickland; and his brother-in-law Bill West. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews.
