She was predeceased by: her parents, Willis Philpot and Lena Philpot (Slinker); her husband Carl Ward; her siblings, Elmo Philpot, Don Philpot, Alva Philpot, James Philpot, Lettie Perry, Lavern Philpot and Elizabeth Grider; and her grandson Todd Petro.
She is survived by: her children, John Crippen (Dottye) of Dugger, IN, Janice Crippen of Columbus, IN and Virginia Luetke of Hope, IN.; and her grandchildren, Emily Hall (Chris), Terry Williams (Angie), Jeff Petro (Renee) and Jennifer Turner (Shan).
