He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Hamilton and Margie Hamilton; his brother Chuck Hamilton; and his sister-in-law Shauna Hamilton. He is survived by: his wife Debbie Hamilton of Dillsboro; his children, Blake Hamilton (Mistie) of Cross Plains, Brandi Cox (Benjamin) of Hebron and Mooch Hamilton (Pam) of Greendale; and his grandchildren, Lincoln Cox, Harper Cox, Hadley Cox, Amber Holley and Trinity Taylor.

Memorials may be given in honor of Rodney to Cops and Kids through the Laughery Valley Fraternal Order of Police (FOP).
