With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donna J. Merkel of Dillsboro, Indiana, who passed away on March 19, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Zapfe and Virginia Zapfe; her sister Barbara Jansen (Ronnie); and her nephews, Tom and Jerry Jansen.
She is survived by: her husband James Merkel; her daughters, Jennifer Petty (Nick) and Christy York; her grandchildren, Justin, Tristan, Madison, Izzy and Aiden; and her niece Sharon Bill (Jerry).
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Evans Funeral Home (741 Center St, Milford, OH 45150). A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
