He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Kirkey and Norma Kirkey (Ake); and his siblings, William Kirkey, Dixie Schmaltz and Linda Winkle (Kirkey).
He is survived by: his sons, Donald Kirkey Jr. (Symadore) of Warsaw and Arthur Kirkey (Angel) of Aurora, Indiana; his stepdaughter Wendy Weber (Denny) of Patriot, Indiana; and his sister Brenda Sue Carter of Madison, Indiana. He is also survived by five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given in honor of Howard to the American Cancer Society.
