He was predeceased by: his parents, Bertha Deaton Shouse and Carlos James Shouse, Sr.; his brothers, Carlos James Shouse, Jr. and Floyd Shouse; and his son-in-law John Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Shouse of Jeffersonville, Jason Shouse (Dawn) of Sautee, Georgia and Christie Shouse Smith Holstein of North Vernon, Indiana; his grandchildren, Naomi Thomas, Hannah Shouse, Brianna Shouse, Daelyn Shouse and Brooklynn Nickole Holstein; his stepgrandchildren, Cheyenne Patton, Ace Holstein and Toni Holstein; his great grandchildren, Ameya, Elizabell, Davion, Haisly and Kennedy; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Lance, Serenity, Michael and Natalie; and his brothers, Kenny Shouse (Patty) of Paris Crossing and Joe Shouse (Sunita) of North Carolina. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
