He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Toppen and Evelyn Toppen (Dexter); and his siblings, Melvin and Eleanor Kingma. He is survived by: his wife Carol Walstra; his children, Steve Toppen and Jill Marcotte (Bryant); his grandchildren, Madison, Isabella, Nash and Remi; his siblings, Jim Toppen (Eileen), Karen Kamminga (Paul) and Margaret Tillema; his sister-in-law Rita Toppen; and his stepmother Margaret Toppen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
