He was predeceased by: his father John Compton. He is survived by: his mother Mildred Compton (Myers); his sons, Tim Compton, Jacob Compton and Josh Compton; and his siblings, John Compton (Cindy), Steve Compton (Joanne) and Sue Burke.

In lieu of flowers memorials are requested for the family.
