He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Sr. Gouwens and Margaret Gouwens (DeWinter); his wife Margot Gouwens; his son Ray Gouwens; and his brother Harry Gouwens Jr..

He is survived by: his children, Roy Gouwens (Deb), Rick Gouwens (Karen) and Linda Gunter (Rich Jr.). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
