He was predeceased by: his parents, William Baxter and Belua Baxter (Wheeldon); his son Michael Wayne Baxter; his great grandchild David; and his siblings, Leroy Baxter, Loeva Beckner and Bill Baxter.

He is survived by: his daughter Catherine Ellen Fife of Delphi; and his grandchildren, Mike, Amanda, Dustin, Jessica, Joshua and Joseph. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
