With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley L. Smith of Decatur, Indiana, who passed away on September 22, 2024 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward F. Berling and Mildred C. Berling (Coffee); and her siblings, Theodore Berling and Patricia Handlon. She is survived by: her children, Yvonne M. Eichorst (Terry), Kristine L. Steck (Chris), Eric G. Smith (Delynn Combs), Stuart E. Smith (Lori Luginbill), Phillip L. Smith (Kellie Bauman), Charlotte A. Hartman (Steve) and Charmaine A. Hostetler (John); her grandchildren, Jason Eichorst, Bridget Hodge, Brandon Steck (Janie), Megan Parrish (Jared), Joshua Smith (Whittney), Macy Smith, Brean Gage (Taylor), Kyle Smith (Annalissa), Mitchell Hartman, Mackenzie Hartman, Madison Hartman, Tanner Hostetler (Kelly), Brady Hostetler (Emma), Mikayla Hostetler and Austin Hostetler; her stepgrandchildren, Jonathan Fincher (Jessica) and Terran Clark (Stormy); her great grandchildren, Cora Hodge, Elliot Hodge, Parker Parrish, Greyson Parrish, Lynlee Parrish, Selah Smith, Kenna Smith, Anndyn Gage and Colsen Gage; and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Jenner Fincher, Jentry Fincher, Bodi Clark and Marleigh Clark. She is also survived by 2 great grandchildren.
