With solemn reverence, we commemorate Rowena E. Voglewede of Decatur, Indiana, whose life came to an end on February 6, 2025 at the age of 86, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Omer Merriman and Mary Merriman (Carr); her husband James "Jim" Joseph Voglewede; and her siblings, Jim Merriman, Rose Kneuss and Sue Yodice.
She is survived by: her children, Jim Voglewede Jr. (Sandy) of Decatur, Steve Voglewede (Loan) of Orlando, FL, Mike Voglewede (Shirley) of Ft. Wayne, Greg Voglewede (Teresa) of Decatur, Nancy Staub (Tony) of Decatur, Becky Bose (Romi) of Naperville, IL, Patty Ainsworth (Mike) of Decatur and Amy Moser (Travis) of Decatur; her brother Jerry Voglewede (Carolyn) of Decatur; her sisters-in-law, Jan Voglewede of New Haven and Marge Merriman of Decatur; and her grandchildren, Tabitha, Mikayla, James, Leah, Benjamin, Justin, Ashley, Jason, Aaron, Brandon, Miranda, Cameron Voglewede, Tyler, Damon, Peyton, Caden Staub, Maya, Adam, Tristan Bose, Sam, Emma, Joe Ainsworth, Devin, Nick and Lucas Moser. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
A rosary was held on Sunday, February 9th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Haggard Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home (225 Adams St, Decatur, IN 46733). Visitation was held on Sunday, February 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, February 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church (414 Madison St, Decatur, IN 46733).
