He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesus Atienzo and Maria Atienzo (Carillo); his wife Cristina Velasquez; and his children, Luciana Atienzo, Jose Luis Atienzo, Cecilia Ochoa and Manuel Atienzo.
He is survived by: his children, Mariano V. Atienzo, Jr. of Decatur, Sildain Atienzo (Ulises Ayala) of Decatur and Sonia Atienzo-Fisher (Jennifer) of Hoagland. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
